Lena Dobrowolska is an artist working with a combination of documentary photography, documentary film, narrative film, virtual reality, installation and research. Since 2012 she has been working on projects relating to climate change and the Anthropocene with artist collaborator Teo Ormond-Skeaping.

Their ongoing work focuses on the relationship between climate change, development, environmental degradation, human rights and geopolitics with documentary representation. More specifically they examine how the mechanism of othering, and produced by it power relations, are inherently present within documentary representations, as well as within the discourse of climate change alike.

Through a study of the landscape, the portrait and the still life their work considers the shifting cultural meaning of nature, how this is changed by the definition of the Anthropocene and how we may 'decolonize nature'.

In 2016 they were awarded a Culture and Climate Change research residency supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, The University of Sheffield, The Open University and Ashden Trust.
